Local creation and online service are different
The £4.99 one-time unlock removes the local capsule creation allowance on the platform where it was purchased. Capsules kept only on that phone do not use iluvu online storage. The unlock does not include unlimited remote uploads, cloud storage, cloud backup or Avatar generation. Local creation and capsules already saved on your phone continue to work when an online limit is reached or new cloud uploads are temporarily paused.
Ordinary online sharing limits
When you send or temporarily store an ordinary capsule through iluvu, the current fair-use limits are:
- Up to 5 new remote capsule uploads per installation in each UTC day.
- Up to 30 new remote capsule uploads per installation in each UTC calendar month.
- Up to 1 GB of ordinary shared media held remotely per installation at one time.
- Up to 60 MB for capsule media, 5 MB for a preview image and 10 MB for a message attachment.
- Additional short-term limits on rapidly repeated attempts, connections and recipients.
An upload being prepared can reserve part of these allowances until it completes, is cancelled or is cleaned up. Limits may also be linked to a verified store purchase so reinstalling the app or adding devices does not create a fresh allowance. Received capsules and ordinary text messaging remain free, but automated or abusive traffic is never permitted.
How long ordinary shared files stay online
The 1 GB allowance is temporary storage held at one time; it is not 1 GB of new uploads every month. Ordinary shared files may be removed 30 days after confirmed receipt and normally expire no later than 90 days after upload. Save anything you want to keep on your own device.
Avatar replies
Avatar replies are being tested and may not be available in your version of iluvu. Where the feature is enabled, one Avatar reply is included with a server-verified £4.99 lifetime purchase. That allowance belongs to the verified store purchase and does not reset when you reinstall the app or use another device.
Further Avatar replies require separately purchased credits where offered. The app will show the quantity and price before payment. The lifetime unlock does not include unlimited Avatar replies. If a generation fails, contact support with the job reference shown in the app rather than repeatedly starting new requests while one is still processing.
Prepaid future storage and delivery attempts
A future-delivery item is separate from ordinary sharing. Where the app confirms that future delivery has been paid for and activated, the fee covers retaining that item until its scheduled release date and making reasonable attempts to notify the chosen recipient and make it available for the stated collection period afterwards. It does not guarantee that the recipient will receive, open, download or view the item.
A future item uploaded but not paid for and activated may be deleted after 24 hours. Product-specific duration, size, collection and delivery-attempt limits shown at purchase also apply. Delivery depends on the recipient remaining contactable, connected, willing and able to access iluvu; further details are set out in our Terms of Service.
Cloud backup
Cloud backup is not included in the local lifetime unlock or ordinary sharing. If iluvu introduces an optional backup service, its own price, storage allowance and retention rules will be shown before purchase.
What is not fair use
Fair use does not include:
- bots, scripts, scraping or other automated requests not provided by the app;
- creating or rotating identities, installations or networks to avoid a limit;
- probing, attacking, overloading or attempting to bypass security or purchase checks;
- uploading spam, unlawful material or content you do not have the right to use; or
- using iluvu as general-purpose file hosting or commercial bulk delivery.
Protecting the service
Depending on the feature and app version, we use verified app and installation information, store-purchase checks, usage counts, network security signals and recipient limits to reduce fraud and automated abuse. We may slow, reject or remove requests, suspend access, or temporarily pause new cloud uploads or Avatar generation when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, control unexpected processing costs, or protect users and availability. A cloud pause does not itself delete local content or cancel an already purchased future delivery.
Limits may be adjusted as genuine use, service costs and threats become clearer. We will publish material changes here, give notice where required and respect existing purchased entitlements and mandatory consumer rights. If a legitimate use reaches a limit unexpectedly, contact luvapp@moocher.co.
